Hey Runner!

Are you struggling with back pain, knee pain, hip pain, calf or foot pain?

You’ve been stuck in this never-ending cycle for months or even years ⬇️

You run too far or too fast.

And get injured.

You take it easy for a few days or even weeks.

But every time you get back to running, the pain comes back.

And you have to back to taking it easy.

AGAIN…

How many times are you willing to get through this never-ending cycle before you decided it time to do something different?

I know what you’re thinking…

“I’ve TRIED IT ALL”.

  • You’ve been to the doctor, they took some images, and then told you to rest and take it easy for a few weeks.

  • You did 8 weeks of physical therapy, but you still don’t feel completely confident in your ability run long distances again.

  • You’ve booked massages and gone to the chiropractor.

  • And you even started doing yoga twice a week.

But every time you increase the mileage, or run faster…

You end up getting hurt.

Sound familiar?

This was the reality for my client Kris.

Kris struggled with hip pain for YEARS.

Every time her hip would start to feel better she would try to get back into running again.

But every time it would keep coming back.

The worst part was her hips felt awful during the day too.

She couldn’t get comfortable sitting at work.

She couldn’t walk as long as she wanted without her hip hurting.

So she eventually decided to stop running.

But she desperately missed her stress-reliever, and was ready to doing anything to get it back.

She went to physical therapy, and did her exercises RELIGIOUSLY.

But she got to a point where she didn’t feel like they were working for her anymore.

And she was still having pain in her hip whenever she ran for more than 20 minutes.

That’s when Kris came to me.

6 months later she was running a 5k pain free.

Here’s why working with me is different from everything you’ve tried before….

#1. Assess Don’t Guess

Everyone who works with me starts with a full body movement assessment. I look at your range of motion as well as your strength. I want to know how prepared your body is to handle the demands of running. My assessment process is THOROUGH  because I want to know what exactly you need to work on to get you back to running pain free. No more wasting your time with guesswork.

In Kris’s assessment we learned….

  • Her hip stabilizing muscles weren’t strong enough.

  • Her right leg was significantly stronger than the left

  • She struggled to hop up and down on one leg

  • Her sleep and nutrition were inconsistent

These were things Kris wasn’t working on in her physical therapy exercises.

#2. Step-By-Step Plan for Running Pain Free

This is where most runners go wrong. They are told by their doctor, trainer, and friends to “take it slow” or “ease back into it”.  This isn’t a plan. This is lazy advice. When you work with me I create an actual running progression for you to get you back into running pain free. I use key performance indicators to keep you on track and make sure you’re actually ready to get back to running like you used to.

Here’s how I helped Kris get back to running a 5k pain free in 6 months:

  • She completed a customized strength and mobility program 2-3x per week that was based on the findings from her assessment.

  •  We introduce simple habits that helped her increase her sleep from 4 hours a night to 6+

  • As we built her strength and made improvements to her lifestyle, her hip started to feel better!

  • After 12 weeks, we reintroduced running, starting with a combination of walking and running, building up to a full 5k!

#3. Support from me every step of the way

When it comes to injuries, setbacks DO HAPPEN. I help my clients navigate everything from setbacks and flare-ups to celebrating victories. At no point will you feel like you have to figure things out on your own.

“I don’t have that horrible pain anymore. I used to think about it every second of the day. There wasn’t a day that went by when I didn’t have some sort of connection with you, and I really appreciated that. I think that’s what makes it.“ ~Susan

I teach my clients how to navigate pain and injuries so that if and when they do happen in the future, they know how to handle them like a pro.

This is for you if….

  • You want to train for your next 5k, 10k, half-marathon, or marathon without another injury stopping you mid training.

  • You want to have your stress-reliever back.

  • You want to feel HIGH running again, you get that excited tingly feeling because your mind isn’t preoccupied with aches and pains.

  • You believe you’ll be running into your 50s, 60s, and 70s instead of believing “I’m too old” at 30.

  • You want to be confident in your ability to keep up with the group at run club because you don’t to stop and walk due to pain.

  • You want to run without being too careful because you aren’t afraid of tweaking your knee again.

Hi my name is Morgan Powers, and I’ve struggled with my share of running injuries.

I grew up running track and field, and competed in triathlons. My junior year of high school, my hip started to bother me to the point where I had to stop running midway through my season. I ended up going to physical therapy for a few weeks which helped me get to the point where I was no longer in pain all the time. But when my sessions ran out, I was told to “take it easy” and keep doing my exercises. A few days later, I was placed in the 2-mile, and it did not go well. I was so scared of hurting my hip again. One of my coaches told me that I should watch my weight, and stop lifting weights. Between coaches telling me to lose weight and losing trust in my body to run without getting hurt, I slowly lost my love for running. Now over 7-years later, I’ve become a coach who helps runners who struggle with injuries and am back to training for a triathlon in 2025.

Susan

When Susan and I started working together, her hip and low-back were always hurting. As a hairstylist and grandmother of young children, it was important for her to be able to be mobile. She really wanted to be able to run to save her life. We worked together for 9 months, and she got to the point where she was running 2 miles without evening thinking about her hip.

Aidan

When Aidan and I started working together, he had discomfort in his hip and knee. It was the kind of  discomfort that didn’t stop him from running completely, but the kind that slowed him down and was always in the back of his mind. As a field athlete, he needed to be able to not only run, but also jump and change direction quickly. After 3-months of working together, he no longer thinks about his hip or knee AND is on the starting line-up for his sport at a D3 school.
